Legalizing marijuana would make Georgia the first state to offer marijuana for recreational use.
However, the effort has not gained traction among state lawmakers, with some lawmakers questioning its feasibility.
A legal marijuana market would have a number of benefits for the state: 1) the government would have more revenue, which would be spent on other priorities, such as education and public safety 2) the drug would help with health issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and seizures 3) it would help fund local governments in the process 4) the state could provide tax revenue and ease the burden of the opioid epidemic.
Here are the legal marijuana regulations in Georgia.
